(Process Paper)
Over the course of this project, there were many steps taken to make my website successful. The first, and most important step to this report was the research portion. Almost every day I spent 30 minutes researching topics related to president Roosevelt. This could be listening to a documentery, reading an article, speaking with someone, or even checking out art work related to the topic. After the research was complete, I put together all the little bits and pieces of information, resulting in a major puzzle piece to my website. When I conducted my research, the main source that I used was a website called “ The American Presidency Project” (link) http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/fireside.php. This website gave me tons of information about FDR’s “Fireside Chats," and primary documents of the chats themselves.
Asking for help was a crucial part of this website. If I had a question about FDR, chances are my Dad knew the answer. My Dad was a history major in college and he helped me along the way. Other relatives like my Grandpa and Grandma gave me information of what life was like during the depression. I interviewed them both in November (a great primary source). My Mom and sister also helped me, by proofreading my work, section by section to make sure that the information made sense.
The most difficult part of this whole project was the amount of time it took to write the information. For example, when I start to write a paragraph or article, it is very hard for me to make a sentence starter. Maybe it was because I was thinking too much on one signal part instead of focusing my attention on the whole project (linking sentence back to the thesis). Over the course of time I had to complete this project, I believe that I did a pretty great job with my research and writing.
I hope you enjoy the website.
